About Corfu Town
Corfu's Old Town achieved UNESCO World Heritage status in 2007.
Dominated by two impressive Venetian fortresses and graced with the architecture from several different cultures the old town is a delight to explore. A maze of narrow streets wind beneath tall colourful buildings, each turn bringing you to yet another secluded square or a Byzantine church; glimpses of the sea are never far away.
As well as its historic churches many hours can be spent exploring this fascinating old town and visiting the bustling early morning market.
Shopping is fabulous, from hand crafted jewellery, ceramics and olive wood products to designer clothes. Set along the arches of the Liston, are plenty of cafes in which to recuperate after your day of sightseeing and shopping.
