About Pelekas
Pelekas, on the west coast of Corfu, is a charming village on top of a hill with a lovely square. There's a good selection of cafes and tavernas here and, if you fancy a change of scenery, the beach is a 10 minute walk (downhill!) where you will find some beach tavernas.
Within a short driving distance you have an excellent choice of sandy beaches (including an unoffical nudist beach!).
One of the main attractions in Pelekas is a famous viewpoint, the Kaiser's Throne. Kaiser Wilhelm II used to journey there from the Achilleion Palace, where he spent many summers, to admire the spectacular sunsets over the west of the island. The views are extensive and on a fine day you have a 360 degree panoramic view of the island.
