Agadir - Day Trips & Excursions

Historic & beautiful Essaouira has elements of many influences over the centuries, from Romans to Portuguese, French & Dutch. A scenic coastal drive along the “Atlantic Highway” (!) brings you to this traditional village, once the main port of Morocco, now mainly relying on fishing, tourism, and artisans. Walk through the unspoilt Medina to discover the craftsmen, wood-carvers & artists, and sample the amazing seafood in the harbour restaurants (lunch not included).

A very full & enthralling day out starting with a breath-taking drive through the Atlas Mountains before arriving in the UNESCO World Heritage status City of Marrakech. Visit the Bahia Palace; the Saadian Tombs; view the famous Koutoubia Mosque; step back in time with a guided walk through the Medina and the labyrinth of fascinating souks; experience the sights and sounds of the World renowned Djemma El Fna square; see how the square transforms at dusk into a huge outdoor street food market. Truly a day you will never forget. (Lunch & evening meal included).

Combine 2 excursions into an unforgettable weekend. Day 1 follows the Marrakech itinerary, without the drive back, and in the evening take some time out to relax, soak up the atmosphere, and stay overnight in a hotel. Day 2, after breakfast, drive to Essaouira for the day and truly discover the complete contrast between this laid back oasis of tranquillity and the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, before heading back down the coast to Agadir.

Little more than an hour away lies the friendly Berber city of Taroudant. Standing in the fertile plains of the Souss valley, overlooked by the Atlas Mountains, this is the ochre-walled 16th Century capital of the Saadien Empire. A half day that gives a glimpse of rural Morocco as well as a tour of an ancient city with magnificent fortified ramparts & a traditional souk.

Head North along the Atlantic coast before turning inland through the village of Aourir. Pass palm groves, banana plantations, gorges, valleys, colourful mountains and rock formations. There are rivers and waterfalls (which only run if there has been enough rain!) and many opportunities for photo-stops of some truly spectacular mountain scenery. You will feel more of a traveller than a tourist, off the beaten track amongst friendly locals & their simple houses.

If you fancy something a bit more adventurous, and to get to know the Morocco away from the tourist scene, this is for you. A short transfer up the coast brings you to the base where you will be fitted out with safety equipment and vehicle. Buggies can carry a driver & passenger and have the added safety of a roll-cage. Smaller buggies and quads are available for children from 12 years of age to drive. After vehicle familiarisation along the beach (all automatic gearboxes), head off the sand dunes into the mountains, through Berber countryside villages, stopping to enjoy spectacular views. This excursion lasts 4 hours in total (3 hours in the saddle) you may want to consider a massage the next day!

Sit back & relax whilst heading out into Atlantic coastal waters, read, top up your tan or try a little hand-line fishing if you please – the choice is yours! The hospitable staff on board will ensure that you have an enjoyable day out and see the city of Agadir and some of the surrounding, sometimes outstanding, countryside from a different perspective.

Journey through the Souss estuary & eucalyptus forest of Agadir on traditional transport. Feel the sway as those gentle ‘ships of the desert’ past contrasting local areas & the King’s Summer Palace.

Fantasia Dinner & Show:

Enjoy a delicious traditional meal of several courses, sampling Moroccan cuisine from the seven different regions, under elaborate caïdal tents within a Kasbah centred on an arena. Traditional folkloric entertainment throughout the evening leads up to the grand finale; charging horsemen, acrobats, fire-eating, all contribute to the atmosphere of this unforgettable evening.

Go-Karting:

With an almost 1 km track, this newly opened facility provides excitement and competition with organised events if there are 4 or more people, or simply single sessions for whatever length of time you choose.

Golf Reservations:

We can arrange golf tee reservations for any of Agadir's fabulous golf courses and include round trip transport if you don't have your own vehicle. Club hire, buggy hire and caddy services also available.
